Michael Carrick signs new Manchester United deal

The English midfield player is now set to stay at the club until 2015.

ENGLAND MIDFIELDER MICHAEL Carrick has agreed a contract extension with Premier League champions Manchester United until 2015, it has been announced.

The deal, which includes an option to extend the contract by a further year, will see Carrick complete a decade of service at Old Trafford since his £18 million ($29.1m) arrival from Tottenham Hotspur in 2006.

“It’s great to extend my contract at this club. I’m really enjoying my football. I’ve won many trophies and look forward to more,” the 32-year-old Carrick told United’s Twitter feed.

Carrick, currently sidelined with an Achilles injury, has won five Premier League titles, a Champions League crown and the League Cup with United, having initially made his name at West Ham United.
