'Miserable' Rooney parties with City players

Meanwhile, Javier Hernandez has signed a new five-year contract with the club.

WAYNE ROONEY ‘CELEBRATED’ his birthday on Sunday night, despite seeming to be in no mood for a party.

The United star was photographed with a glum expression, presumably owing to United’s ignominious 6-1 defeat to City yesterday.

The player organised a meal for his 26 guests, who included Man City players Gareth Barry and Joe Hart, at his favourite Chinese restaurant – Wings.

Speaking to the Sun, an onlooker said: “He looked a bit miserable at first but I guess that’s hardly surprising after getting stuffed like that.”

He continued:

“But he soon livened up. Everybody was having a great time as the night went on. The place was buzzing.”

Meanwhile, in a rare piece of good news for United of late, Javier Hernandez has a signed a new five-year contract with the club.

Commenting on the deal, Hernandez said: ”I never expected my first year to go so well and I’m delighted to commit my future to United.”

The Mexican star has scored 16 goals in 34 league appearances since signing for the club.
