Fulham accept Spurs bid for Dembele - reports

The Belgian international looks set to join the Cottagers’ London rivals.

TOTTENHAM HOTSPURS HAVE had a bid accepted for Moussa Dembele.

With Luka Modric finally completing his move to Real Madrid for a fee in the region of €37 million yesterday, Spurs manager Andre Villas-Boas is keen to find a replacement before Friday’s deadline.

Belgian international Dembele arrived at Fulham from AZ Alkmaar in August 2010 and his stock has risen significantly with a number of impressive displays for the Cottagers at the back end of last season and in the opening two games of this campaign.

While Martin Jol is desperate to keep the 25-year-old attacking midfielder, he is believed to have a buyout clause of around €18 million and tonight, a number of media outlets including ESPN, are reporting that Spurs’ offer has been successful.

Manchester United boss Alex Ferguson made a bid of €6 million earlier in the summer which was rejected and it will be interesting to see if he shows late interest now Dembele looks set to leave Fulham.
