Mulvihill back in Premier football attack

Tipperary boss Peter Creedon has made just the one change for tomorrow’s qualifier tie with Wexford.

BRIAN MULVIHILL HAS returned to the Tipperary starting fifteen for tomorrow’s All-Ireland SFC round two qualifier against Wexford in Semple Stadium.

The Moyle Rovers attacker gets the nod at centre-forward having been brought on as a substitute during the round one victory over Offaly. He registered a point during his second-half cameo in that game having previously missed out on the Munster championship loss to Kerry in May after undergoing an appendix operation.

Mulvihill comes into the team instead of Alan Maloney in the only change from the Offaly game. His inclusion prompts an attacking reshuffle with Richie Ryan moving to right half-forward, Michael Quinlivan switching to right corner-forward, Peter Acheson now stationed at the edge of the square at full-forward and team captain Philip Austin selected at left corner-forward.

Tipperary are bidding to atone for the 2-20 to 1-8 defeat they suffered against Wexford in the league in March with only seven survivors in their side from that loss - Andrew Morrissey, Paddy Codd, Ciaran McDonald, Hugh Coghlan, Austin, Acheson and Quinlivan.

TIPPERARY: Paul Fitzgerald (Fethard); Andrew Morrissey (Galtee Rovers), Paddy Codd (Killeneule), Ciarán McDonald (Aherlow); Brian Fox (Éire Óg Annacarty), Robbie Kiely (Arravale Rovers), Alan Campbell (Moyle Rovers); George Hannigan (Shannon Rovers), Hugh Coghlan (Portlaoise, Laois); Richie Ryan (Eire Og Annacarty), Brian Mulvihill (Moyle Rovers), Donagh Leahy (Arravale Rovers); Michael Quinlivan (Clonmel Commercials), Peter Acheson (Moyle Rovers), Philip Austin (Borrisokane).
