NBA: Spurs sweep past Clippers

San Antonio are in the Western conference final after whitewashing LA, their eighth win on the bounce.

THE SAN ANTONIO Spurs survived a late scare to advance to the Western conference finals with a 102-99 win over the Los Angeles Clippers.

Tim Duncan scored 21 points and Tony Parker added 17 as the Spurs completed a 4-0 sweep of the Clippers in the Western Conference semi-final series.

Chris Paul had 23 points and Blake Griffin added 21 for the Clippers, who led by six points in the final quarter.

However, the Spurs proved too strong for the home side at the Staples Center and move on to a meeting with either the Los Angeles Lakers or Oklahoma City Thunder to decide the Western Conference.

The victory extended San Antonio’s winning streak to 18 games and their playoffs record to 8-0.
