Liverpool's home kit for 2016/17 is apparently designed for 'easy identification at rapid speed'

It’s red, would you believe?

LIVERPOOL CAPTAIN JORDAN Henderson was joined this afternoon by Philippe Coutinho, Simon Mignolet and Jon Flanagan, as well as Academy graduate Connor Randall and Liverpool Ladies duo Gemma Bonner and Natasha Harding, to launch the club’s new home kit for the 2016/17 season.

According to the club, the New Balance kit features “eye-catching flashes of amber yellow… designed for easy identification at rapid speed” — just in case one of the players is rendered incognito by the bright red shirt, shorts and socks.

The inner hem of the shirt — which features “gradiated mesh to allow for increased air movement around the body, a tipped short stand button polo collar and is completely seam-free for greater comfort and reduced friction” — also includes the quote: ‘There’s no noise like the Anfield noise’.

Manager Jürgen Klopp (or someone in the club’s marketing department speaking on his behalf, most likely) said: “This team has the winning mentality and now, with this spectacular new home kit every player will look the part lighting up Anfield.”

Yep, that definitely sounds like Jürgen Klopp alright.

Anyway, it’s not a bad looking garment and it’s on sale now from official club stores and online.
