Ronaldo, Rooney and Neymar take on a team of clones in Nike's cool animation

This could be the best World Cup 2014 ad yet.

WE’VE BROUGHT YOU some of the best World Cup ads in the run-up to this month’s finals, which kick-off on Thursday when hosts Brazil face Croatia in the opening game.

Nike have been ever-reliable over the years with classics such as the 1998 Brazil team having a kickabout in the airport, the secret tournament in ‘The Cage’ and the recent ‘Winner Stays’.

Today, they released this excellent five-minute animation which tells the story of football’s biggest names — including Cristiano Ronaldo, Neymar, Wayne Rooney and Zlatan Ibrahimovic — attempting to rescue the game from a team of robotic clones.

We think it’s pretty cool but the animator may have been slightly generous with the original Brazilian Ronaldo…
