No joy for Hession in the 200m heats

The Galway native was just short of qualifying for Wednesday’s semi-finals.

PAUL HESSION HAS not progressed to the men’s 200m semi-finals.

The Galway runner opened his London 2012 account with a heat alongside 100m silver medallist Yohan Blake this morning.

After a strong start, Hession, whose personal best is 20.30, finished in fifth place with a time of 20.69 as the Jamaican star took first place.

With the top three in each heat plus the fastest three losers going through, he unfortunately lost out by just .06 seconds and was 27th overall.
