No remorse: shirt-stealing Aussie not giving up her prize

“I’m keeping it” says the woman who snatched the Djokovic souvenir from a young fan’s grasp.

YOU MAY REMEMBER the massive controversy which ensued after Novak Djokovic’s epic Austalian Open.

No, not the sponsors criminally long acceptance speech. It was the triumph of evil over good after the victor began throwing his apparel into the crowd.

In the video below, the world number one can be seen quite deliberately tossing one of his shirts to a young girl in the front row. If he hadn’t just put his body through hell for six hours then he would have walked up closer and handed it over.

He was tired, so he reached what he thought was a safe distance and gently lobbed the shirt at the innocent young fan. Then BOOM! a big malicious arm comes from nowehere and swiped all the girls dreams away.

The arm, as it turns out, belongs to one Yael Rothschild and like all good villains she thought she was just doing what was right.

Displaying the kind of cold competitive streak that could only endear here to fellow Australians, Rothschild told Australia’s Fox network:

“When the shirt was thrown, there would have been 20 excited people, all with their hands out, after (it had been) thrown, there would have been 19 disappointed people.”

“Such is life. I am not sure how you can snatch out of the hands of someone sitting three seats away from you with a barrier between the seating,”

Eh, this is how.
