Highly-rated Ireland U21 international commits future to QPR

Olamide Shodipo has penned a new deal to stay at Loftus Road until 2019.

PROMISING IRISH WINGER Olamide Shodipo has a signed a new contract with QPR.

The Ireland underage international has become a regular feature for the Championship side this season with 11 appearances so far this term and has been rewarded for his fine form with a new two-and-a-half year deal at Loftus Road.

“I am really pleased,” the 19-year-old told the club’s official website.

“It’s been a crazy few months for me, and to get this contract feels like a reward. I have worked hard but I’ve got to make sure I keep that going,” the Dublin-born teenager continued.

“It has been an amazing experience to be involved with the First Team. It’s new surroundings and new pressures, but that’s something I have to learn to deal with.”

QPR currently sit in 15th place in the Championship, and replaced the sacked Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink with Ian Holloway earlier this month.
