Open Thread: How do you think Ireland will fare in Scotland today

Ireland are in a make or break situation in Edinburgh this afternoon.

EIGHT GAMES DOWN, seven to go.

We’re past the midway point of the 2013 Six Nations, but If Ireland are to have any interest in the destination of the trophy they need to win in Edinburgh.

Declan Kidney sprung some surprises on us midweek. Ronan O’Gara remains on the bench, leap-frogged by Paddy Jackson.

The uncapped Ulster out-half is joined in the creative heart of the team by Luke Marshall.

Meanwhile, all appears to be going well for our celtic cousins. They’ve scored six tries in two games with their new and improved back three making every turnover a scoring opportunity.

Tell us, how do you think it will all play out.

Will Jackson’s kicking improve? Will Declan Kidney’s selection be vindicated, or will this be the final nail in his contractual coffin?

Will Scott Johnson end the day as a contender for a long-term role, or will the SRU be considering an offer for a Grand Slam and Heineken Cup winning coach who may or may not have thumbs to twiddle in the summer.

Will ‘the controllables’ be controlled? Let us know in the comment section below.
