Pacquiao pencilled in for Bradley fight on June 9

The eight division world champion has agreed to put his WBO Welterweight title on the line in Las Vegas.

WBO WELTERWEIGHT CHAMPION Manny Pacquaio has agreed to give Timothy Bradley a shot at his title this summer.

Pacquaio’s promoter Top Rank confirmed on Monday night that the fight is scheduled to take place in the MGM Grand, Las Vegas on June 9.

Last week, Floyd Mayweather ended speculation of a possible meeting with the Filipino after he announced that he will face Miguel Cotto in May.

Unbeaten Bradley (28-0, 12 KOs) currently holds the light-welterweight belt and plans to step up a division to take on his opponent.

Although further discussions with Bradley’s team will be held before the deal is completed, the Californian has said in the past that he would relish the chance to step in the ring with the eight division world champion.

“It’s subject to us reaching the appropriate (financial) deal with Tim Bradley,” said Top Rank chairman Bob Arum in USA Today. “I’m very optimistic I’ll get it done, but right now it’s just not done.

I don’t think there’s a question (that Bradley wants to fight Pacquiao),” Arum added. “The question is reaching the right financial terms.”

28-year-old Bradley came up against Joel Casamayor on the undercard of Pacquiao v Juan Manuel Marquez in November and stopped the Cuban during the eighth round.
