KILMARNOCK ARE LOOKING at the possibility of bringing in Irish striker Patrick Hoban to train with the club.
The 23-year-old was in terrific form this season and finished joint top scorer in the SSE Airtricity League Premier Division with Christy Fagan after hitting 20 league goals for newly-crowned champions Dundalk.
Reports this morning suggested that Hoban is spending the week on trial with the Scottish Premiership side, currently sixth in the table, but a spokesperson for the club has told The Score that those claims are untrue.
They explained that there has been contact between Kilmarnock and the player, who could yet be offered the chance to train with the team, but added that no deal or agreement of any kind is in place yet.
Hoban’s team-mate and fellow PFAI Player of the Year nominee Richie Towell has been on trial with Cardiff City in recent days while Stephen Kenny has secured the services of Darren Meenan, Chris Shields, Dane Massey, David McMillan, Andy Boyle, Brian Gartland and Kurtis Byrne for next season.
Meanwhile, Cork City have today announced the signing of 22-year-old midfielder Gavan Holohan, who arrives from Drogheda United.
