Percy Harvin scored three touchdowns last night... and none of them counted
THE DEFENDING SUPER Bowl champions, the Seattle Seahawks, made light work of Washington on Monday Night Football with a 27-17 win. However, it could have been much, much more.
The first, a 16-yard scoring run, was called back for holding by James Carpenter:
The second disallowed score occurred on the very next play when Russell Wilson’s 26-yard pass to Harvin was ruled out for a false start on the offence (though we think the referee meant illegal motion).
The third and final insult for Harvin – not to mention the millions of fantasy football players whose games were decided by these decisions – came in the fourth quarter when Wilson hit his receiver on a 41-yard pass only for Carpenter to again be penalised, this time for hitting a player on the ground.
