TRIBUTES HAVE POURED in following the sudden passing at the weekend of former Down footballer Peter Turley.

The 33 year-old, who played Gaelic football for the Saval club outside Newry, passed away yesterday.

A former Down senior player, he lined out for Queen’s University Belfast in two Sigerson Cup finals when they lost out to IT Sligo in 2005 and DCU in 2006.

His namesake from Downpatrick is currently involved with the Down senior football squad.
