Hammer blow for Clare as Podge Collins sidelined for 'foreseeable future'

The corner-forward sustained the injury in a club game on Saturday evening.

CLARE’S CHAMPIONSHIP HOPES have suffered a major setback with the news dual player Podge Collins has damaged his cruciate ligament and will be sidelined for the ‘foreseeable future’.

The 23-year-old was forced off after just 15 minutes of Cratloe’s senior hurling championship defeat to Ballyea last night and Clare FM are reporting Collins will now miss the remainder of the season.

Manager Colm Collins, who was recently slapped with a 12-week touchline ban, will have to do without his corner-forward for the Munster football championship semi-final against Cork on 14 June.
