The Chelsea manager was asked more questions about his future at Stamford Bridge after another defeat last night for the Blues.

LAST NIGHT’S DEFEAT to Bayer Leverkusen means Chelsea must beat Valencia at home – or keep a clean sheet at least –  to secure their passage to the champions League last 16.

The Blues surrendered a one-goal lead at the BayArena to go down 2-1 in dramatic circumstances.

The defeat is the fourth in seven games in all competitions for Chelsea and afterwards the young manager was forced to yet again answer questions about his future at Stamford Bridge.

Guus Hiddink’s recent exit from the Turkish national set-up prompted some speculation about a possible return to west London meanwhile. The one time Blues caretaker boss is a long-time confidante of club owner Roman Abramovich.

Villas Boas was only appointed by the Premier League side in July after he led Porto to a Europa League final win in Dublin as well as domestic honours.

He has inherited an ageing side and has tried to change quickly the way they play as well as make personnel changes. His is a long-term plan – but the short-term results are undoubtedly disappointing.

So should AVB be under such pressure at this stage?
