How did she get on? One of our journalists took on the Crashed Ice Belfast track

There is lots of footage of falling. Lots of falling.

LAST WEEK, THE42 told you about the secondment was sending me on – to take part in the insane Red Bull Crashed Ice competition in Belfast.

Yes, this one.

Last time we spoke, this is where I was at.

Because I wanted to focus on keeping my confidence levels up, I failed to mention this stage.

Ice skating, when done expertly, looks effortless. Skaters glide forwards, backwards and sideways at speed and with elegance.

Ice hockey players are fast, skillful and hard. Figure skaters are powerful, technically gifted and equally tough.

Crashed Ice competitors are a terrifying mix of both. They can jump, spin, skate fast and take on horrific obstacles.

On arriving at Stormont last weekend, we were met by talented skaters daunted by the task ahead.

Those confidence levels?

Here’s what happened on game day… let’s just say my coccyx is just about recovered.
