Epic Grand Slam sends Red Sox into World Series showdown with St Louis

Shane Victorino’s homer sent the Sox Nation wild at Fenway Park with a four-run effort.

SHANE VICTORINO STEPPED up with a steepling Grand Slam to help the Boston Red Sox to a 5-2 win over reigning American League champions, the Detroit Tigers.

The Red Sox will now face the St. Louis Cardinals in the best of seven finale, beginning this Wednesday in Boston.

The Tigers led 2-1 into the bottom of the seventh inning before Victorino climbed into a Max Scherzer pitch for the homerun — adding four runs to the Sox score — and send Fenway Park wild.

The Boston players, kitted out in army helmets and ski masks, went ballistic in a victorious post-match dressing room as they soaked all-comers with champagne/sparkling wine and Bud Light.
