Ricky Nixon decision due today

Report on controversial Aussie Rules super agent will be filed by lawyer today.

EMBATTLED AUSSIE RULES player agent Ricky Nixon will learn his fate in the next 24 hours.

The barrister in charge of the investigation into his recent behaviour says he will hand in his report today.

David Galbally QC has confirmed the AFL Players Association, which commissioned the probe, will have his completed report later. Galbally told Melbourne-based The Age newspaper:

‘‘I had to have it concluded by the end of the day tomorrow.’’

He would not say whether he had spoken to the player manager. The probe was launched after the 17-year-old girl at the centre of the AFL nude photo scandal insisted she also had a relationship with the player scout.

Nixon left Australia for Ireland ahead of last month’s Sigerson Cup weekend but is now said to be in South Australia attending a rehabiliation clinic for a ‘‘substance problem’’.

Galbally is believed to have examined video footage of Nixon allegedly taken by the girl in a Melbourne hotel room. The teenager claims she has had a sexual relationship with Nixon and made covert recordings that included audio of Nixon allegedly snorting cocaine.

Nixon may have his license revoked and may quit his job at Flying Start, whatever the outcome.
