THE CONTROVERSY SURROUNDING AFL player manager Ricky Nixon continues with detectives questioning the 47-year-old yesterday.
Australian news networks Nine and Ten reported that the 47-year-old spent several hours at Victoria Police headquarters before being released in the late afternoon.
It is understood that detectives wished to defer their questioning until Nixon had returned from his returned from his recent trip to Britain and Ireland.

As reported here last week, Melbourne lawyer David Galbally QC has also commenced a separate investigation into the claims surrounding Nixon on behalf of the AFL Players Association.
As of yet, no formal charges have been brought against Nixon, who denies having sex and taking drugs with the 17-year-old girl at the centre of the controversy.
Last month, the teenager – who had also been involved in the St Kilda nude photo scandal – told journalists that she had an “affair” with Nixon, producing a number of video tapes which she claimed supported her story.
Both Galbally and the Melbourne criminal investigation bureau have examined four recordings which the teenager is said to have made, one of which appears to show Nixon in his underwear kneeling on a bed.
In a statement released via e-mail, he stated that he wished to be treated “for a substance problem that has impacted on my life and my decision-making, particularly over the last eight weeks.”
