Look who's back: Keane, McGeady join up with Ireland camp

Ciaran Clark also took part in his first training session after he was called into the squad yesterday.

ROBBIE KEANE AND Aiden McGeady trained with the Republic of Ireland squad in Malahide on Tuesday morning as preparations continue for the World Cup qualifier against Germany.

Keane and McGeady both missed Monday’s first training session to allow them extra travel time following their respective involvement with the LA Galaxy and Spartak Moscow at the weekend.

They were joined in Gannon Park by Aston Villa defender Ciaran Clark, who was called up to the squad yesterday to help alleviate the defensive shortage faced by manager Giovanni Trapattoni.

On Monday, hamstring victims Sean St Ledger and Glenn Whelan were ruled out of the games against both Germany and the Faroe Islands . Winger James McClean has returned to Sunderland for treatment on a hip flexor strain in the hope that he will be fit for the trip to Torshavn in seven days’ time.
