Staying put: Keane has no intention of making Premier League return

The Ireland striker says it wouldn’t be right to go on loan to England during the MLS off-season.

ROBBIE KEANE SAYS he won’t be making a loan move to the Premier League during the MLS close-season.

The Ireland captain enjoyed a short spell with Aston Villa this time last year and there has been speculation about the 32-year-old moving to several clubs this month with QPR touted as a possible destination.

However, speaking on Sky Sports programme The Fantasy Football Club last night, Keane revealed that he is planning to rest during the next couple of months off.

“It has been a long season with the Euros and what have you,” Keane said.  ”

“I’ve a few little niggles that need to be sorted out so I don’t think at this moment in time it would be right for me to go anywhere.

I had another year left and they offered me a new contract at the end of last season. I’ve just signed a new two-year contract.”
