Robbie Keane on brink of £7m Birmingham switch

Alex McLeish likely to win the race for the Ireland skipper.

IRELAND SKIPPER Robbie Keane is likely to join Birmingham City for around £7million, according to reports this evening.

Sky Sports News report that the Blues are close to agreeing a deal with Spurs and the Tallaght man will likely have a medical at St Andrews in the next 24 hours.

Several clubs have been linked with the striker, including relegation candidates West Ham and Aston Villa.

Brum's Bosnia striker Nikola Zigic, signed from Valencia for £6 million in the summer, has struggled to adapt to the Premier League and Birmingham are short on goals this season.

Craig Gardner is the top scorer with just five goals

Cameron Jerome has failed to reproduce the form which brought him 11 Premier League goals last season while Kevin Phillips is now at the veteran age of 37.

Is it a good move for Robbie?
