Rock 'n' Roll Star: Joey Barton turns music reviewer

The player will feature this Sunday at 2pm on Q Radio, as he looks to disprove the stereotype that footballers have terrible music tastes.

IS JOEY BARTON the most eccentric and unpredictable player since Eric Cantona?

In addition to footballer, political commentator and philosphy student, Barton can now add music reviewer to his CV.

The QPR midfielder, who is a big fan of The Smiths, will be reviewing singles for Q Radio this Sunday.

Barton will also be talking to Q about his music tastes, in addition to discussing the changing public perception of the star.

“When I first started tweeting everyone was like: ‘This can’t be you because you can’t spell,’ then it was like: ‘This is definitely not you because you can’t read, because I tweeted about books I read.’”

Largely thanks to his ubiquitous presence on Twitter, the player has become arguably the most talked-about footballer this season, with a spat involving Karl Henry being the latest of many headline-grabbing moments.
