Ronaldinho has had 'more than one offer' from England as he seeks new club

“He still wants to play… I think he has three or four years left to him, maybe more.”

RONALDINHO’S BROTHER, ROBERTO, says that he has fielded “more than one call” from England as the former Barcelona superstar attempts to find his next club.

Ronaldinho, a World Cup winner and a former Ballon d’Or winner who remains one of the most adored players of the previous decade, most recently turned out for Fluminense, having played nine games for the club.

Since leaving Milan, the 35-year-old has twice joined Fluminense and also played for Atletico Mineiro and Queretaro, but is now seeking a new club and his sibling claims that he could yet play in the Premier League, although there are more attractive offers from elsewhere.

“Asia or the United States are more likely,” Roberto told The Times. “My brother is a competitor. He loves to win: that is what people do not realise about him.

“He still wants to play. He has never had serious injuries; his body is in perfect condition. I think he has three or four years left to him, maybe more.”

Ronaldinho has twice come close to moving to England, initially snubbing Manchester United for Barcelona after leaving Paris Saint-Germain in 2003, before rejecting a bizarre offer to join Blackburn Rovers in 2011.

And Roberto insists that Ronaldinho will not let money dictate his next move, as he hopes to join a club in February.

“It is not about money,” Roberto, who is also Ronaldinho’s agent, added. “He just wants to play. That is when I see him at his happiest.”
