SO WE KNOW Rory McIlroy nearly missed Europe’s big Ryder Cup comeback because of a time zone blunder this afternoon.
Apparently McIlroy saw on the Golf Channel that his tee time was at 12:25 pm and didn’t realise the channel was listing it in eastern time, and not local time (it was taking place in Chicago obviously).
As a result he had to get a police escort to the course and couldn’t warm up. He won anyway (beating Keegan Bradley), so did Europe, and at the end of the day he ended up with this enormous Flavor Flav clock during the victory celebration.
