Rovers tie Finn down for two more years
STEPHEN KENNY HAS warned the rest of the Airtricity League that they’re yet to see the best of Shamrock Rovers playmaker Ronan Finn
Finn, 24, signed off on a two-year contract extension this afternoon which will see him remain with the Tallaght club until the end of the 2014 season.
The former UCD starlet joined Rovers in 2011 following the demise of Sporting Fingal and quickly reignited interest among clubs in England and Scotland with his assured performances in the heart of the Hoops midfield.
Finn has continued to shine this season, chipping in league goals against Shelbourne and Bray, and Kenny is confident that he can grow into one of the league’s top stars.
“I am delighted that Ronan has extended his contract here,” the manager told the club website. “He is an integral part of the future of Shamrock Rovers and I’ve been very impressed by him since I joined the club.
“Playing for Shamrock Rovers is an honour,” Finn said, “so to know I’ll be doing it for another two years is great. When you come here you realise how big the club is and once you’ve played here, you don’t want to leave.”
