RUSSELL CROWE IS a pretty keen sports fan.
He’s a co-owner of Australian NRL side the South Sydney Rabbitohs while he did some punditry work for Sky Sports during the 2009 Ashes series.
There was also a relatively long-running story linking the Oscar-winning actor with purchasing a stake in Leeds – the team he’s supported since the 1970s.
Last October, however, he took to social media to reveal that after serious deliberation, he wouldn’t be investing in the club.
But now, the 52-year-old has been showing his passion for football again.
He’s been watching plenty of Euro 2016 and, for reasons unknown, he’s been tweeting his support for Poland.
After they got the better of Ukraine in their final group game thanks to a winner from Jakub ‘Kuba’ Błaszczykowski, the New Zealander posted a message of congratulations.
The revelation came as a bit of surprise to Polish football fans. And to the country’s football federation too.
Though they were quick to try and capitalise on their new-found celebrity fan.
But, don’t fret.
Crowe has a soft spot for the Irish too.
