THERE ARE TWO things that regularly stand out when you watch the Ryder Cup:

A) Tournament matchplay golf is unbelievably exciting

and

B) Almost every single Ryder Cup uniform has been an affront to the eyes.

Do fashion designers do this deliberately? Every golf-themed sweater-vest, cardigan, blazer and polo shirt are either some ghastly colour, have an eyeball-melting design or are covered in stupid sequins.

If you can stomach it, take a look at eight of the worst Ryder Cup uniforms of all-time. I haven’t seen so many ill-advised sweater-vests since my First Communion.
