BRENDAN RODGERS HAS finally got his man.

Scott Sinclair has signed a four-year deal with Glasgow Celtic and makes the move north after just one season with Aston Villa.

The 27-year-old has struggled for consistency ever since leaving Swansea City for Manchester City in 2012.

There was a subsequent loan spell at West Brom and at Villa Park, before Sinclair made a permanent switch there in 2015.

The winger has plenty of history with Rodgers – the pair having worked together at Chelsea and at Swansea.

“I can’t wait to get on the pitch”, Sinclair said.

“When I went back to Aston Villa for pre-season, I heard Celtic were interested, and I just knew I had to come here. I had to look at this move and I thought it would be great for me. And because I know the manager and I know what to expect, hopefully I can get off to a flying start.

The manager had a great influence when I was at Swansea and that’s when I played my best football and hopefully now I can get the best football out of me and get my form back out there and score goals and perform.”

Ever since arriving in Glasgow, the club’s new manager eyed Sinclair and desperately wanted to land him.

Celtic made a number of offers before the deal was finally completed this weekend and the fee is believed to be in the region of £3.5m.

The side begin their title defence with a game against Hearts later this afternoon with Sinclair possibly being involved.
