Semple Stadium to host hurling league final with All-Ireland U21 decider set for Tullamore

The GAA have confirmed the venues for the major matches on the May Bank Holiday weekend.

SEMPLE STADIUM WILL host the meeting of Tipperary and Kilkenny in this year’s Allianz Division 1 hurling league final on Sunday May 4th.

The GAA have confirmed this evening that the Thurles venue will host the league showdown as the Premier and the Cats face off for the second successive year.

They clashed last season in Nowlan Park for the league final. Tipperary saw off Clare this afternoon in the Gaelic Grounds in a double-header that also featured Kilkenny’s semi-final success against Galway.

Meanwhile the GAA have also announced that O’Connor Park in Tullamore will be the venue for the collision between Dublin and Roscommon in this year’s Cadbury All-Ireland U21 football final on Saturday May 3rd.

It’ll be the second time in three years that the counties meet at this stage of the U21 competition with Dublin triumphing two years ago by 2-12 to 0-11 in Tullamore.

Dublin overcame Cavan by 0-11 to 0-10 in Portlaoise in yesterday’s semi-final with Roscommon defeating Cork by 1-19 to 3-12 at the same venue.
