SETANTA SPORTS HAVE revealed their schedule of live GAA matches in this spring’s Allianz football and hurling leagues.
The TV station are set to broadcast 14 games, starting on Saturday 1st of February when All-Ireland football champions Dublin take on Kerry in Croke Park.
There will be a change in presenter this year with the live coverage to be fronted by Newstalk’s Ger Gilroy and the Sunday Independent’s Damian Lawlor. Last year the matches were presented by Eoin McDevitt, who is now with RTÉ as part of the Second Captains show.
Jim Gavin’s Dublin side will have their four home league games all covered live by the station with their remaining three ties against Cork, Kildare and Mayo in March. Derry against Tyrone on February 1st is the other Division 1 football league game to be covered.
There will be five games shown from Division 2 of the football league, three of Armagh’s home games at the Athletic Grounds and two of Meath’s clashes from Páirc Tailteann in Navan.
In hurling, there will be two encounters in Division 1A – Tipperary against Waterford on February 22nd and Dublin’s meeting with Kilkenny on March 16th. Jimmy Barry-Murphy’s Cork hurling side will have two of their Division 1B ties shown on Setanta Sports.
