Jonny Sexton lambasted by new teammates after blowing drop goal challenge
Ronan O’Gara was nearby, hawking poor Jonny out of it.

THERE IS NO better way of introducing yourself to your new, multi-millionaire rugby teammates than slotting over a pressurised drop goal in training.

Jonny Sexton did no such thing when he dragged his end-of-training effort left and wide of the mark. As locks and hookers stepped up and slotted over spiraling efforts, Sexton’s went askew, much to the amusement of his new colleagues.

The outhalf, signed from Leinster earlier in the season, took the ribbing in good spirits before exiting stage left as Backs versus Forwards the drop goal challenge unfolded.

Listen out for the dulcet tones of skills and backs coach Ronan O’Gara as he warns hooker Dimitri Szarzewski to take his kick properly. “Hey, Dimitri, no football.” warns our RO’G.

The video has since dropped off Racing’s Daily Motion page but you  can listen to his first press conference here>>>

Sexton revealed, at the press conference to officially unveil him as a Racing player, that he had been contacted by other Top 14 giants Clermont Auvergne and Toulouse before he decided on the move to Paris.

The top-class facilities, new coaching set-up and the arrival of players such as Dan Lydiate and Jamie Roberts convinced the Irish outhalf to join up.

Coach Laurent Labit said it was highly unlikely that Sexton would feature against Toulon, and Jonny Wilkinson, this weekend. He counselled Racing supporters that the season ahead is a long one and they will get to see plenty of their new signing in the coming weeks and months.
