Shane Lowry pockets a tasty €160,000 after an excellent week at Wentworth

Lowry finishes in a tie for sixth at the BMW PGA Championship.

SHANE LOWRY BANKED a six-figure cheque with his best performance of the year to date at the BMW PGA Championship.

Lowry shot a closing 69 at Wentworth to finish in a tie for sixth place on -11, 10 shots behind winner Byeong-Hun An who romped clear of the field on Sunday.

The Clara native, who bounced back from a disappointing opening day to shoot three rounds under par, collected €162,500 for his week’s work.

He finished with a bogey-free card on Sunday as he took full advantage on the par-fives, with birdies on three of the four.

An’s final round of 65 saw him finish on -21, six clear of Miguel Angel Jimenez and Thongchai Jaidee who finished level on -15.
