Shane Lowry holds a joint-lead in Turkey with Harrington following closely behind

Harrington hit eight birdies throughout the front and back nine.

SHANE LOWRY IS the joint leader heading into the final round of the Turkish Airlines Open, while fellow Irish man Pádraig Harrington is just two shots behind.

The Offaly man shot six birdies on the second last day, three of which came between the 11th and 13th hole. His six-under 65 leaves him with a one-shot advantage for the round on Thailand’s Kiradech Aphibarnrat, who he shares the overall lead with on 14 under par.

It was a similarly good day out for Harrington, who has been enjoying a strong tournament throughout. He carded a 64, which consisted of eight birdies and one bogey to leave him just one spot behind Aphibarnrat.

He was just one off the lead at the end of the opening round and remains in contention for this €6million event.

Harrington is joined by England’s Justin Rose and Colsaerts of Belgium join Harrington on 12-under overall.
