Shaq: Blame Obama for Rondo's poor shooting

Apparently, the president’s “jokes” didn’t go down too well.

BOSTON CELTICS POINT guard Rajon Rondo struggled a little bit with his shooting towards the end of last season, but it seems that there might be a very simple explanation for the problem.

Like most things in America, it’s President Obama’s fault — at least, that’s what Shaquille O’Neal thinks.

CSNNE have published an excerpt from Shaq’s forthcoming book, Shaq Uncut, in which the four-time NBA Champion recounts a meeting between Rondo and the president at a fundraiser last March.

As the Celtics players and Obama chatted, the president sarcastically quipped that Rondo might want to start offering shooting classes.

As Shaq says:

KG [Celtics player Kevin Garnett] told me he saw the look on Rondo’s face and the kid was devastated, embarrassed. Dissed by the President, even though I’m sure Obama didn’t mean any harm [...] It bothered Rondo. It killed him.

And apparently, from that point on, Rondo’s shooting went downhill.

I wonder who he’ll be voting for in next year’s presidential election.
