IRISH STARS SHAY Given and Stephen Ireland may have experienced one of the lowest points in their career last night as Aston Villa lost out on a place at Wembley to fourth-tier opposition.

But Given’s countyman, Carl McHugh, was there to fly the Donegal flag after Bradford clinched a place in the Capital One Cup final at Villa Park. The 19-year-old centre half from Lettmacaward scored in the first leg and helped the League Two club seal an aggregate win last night.
