The Best Thing We Shared
Ahead of this week’s return of the NFL, let our quiz decide which team you should support.
Where We Were Today
Murray Kinsella was in Edinburgh for Warren Gatland’s unveiling as the next British and Irish Lions head coach, Fintan O’Toole was in Thurles for a press event ahead of Saturday’s All-Ireland U21 hurling final, Alan Waldron was at the Aviva Stadium for the launch of this season’s Ulster Bank League, while Ryan Bailey is in Rio de Janeiro for tonight’s Paralympics opening ceremony.
On The Record
Good teams get to finals and they are a good team. You don’t come into an All-Ireland final under the radar. They have earned all their victories along the way and learned a lot from it. They have been right up there in the past. Any time we have played them from ’13 to last year, even up in Castlebar this February there wasn’t a bounce of a ball between us. I’m sure there will be a bounce of a ball again between us again.
Dublin senior football manager Jim Gavin looks ahead to Sunday week’s meeting with Mayo in the All-Ireland final.
The Fixture List
Tomorrow is the first day of the 2016 Paralympics in Rio de Janeiro. There are six Irish teams/athletes in action, including Jason Smyth getting his defence of the T13 100m title underway at 11.34pm.
