KATIE TAYLOR WILL meet Natasha Jonas on Monday in the lightweight quarter-finals, after the British boxer beat the USA’s Queen Underwood 21-13 in her first bout of the Olympics.
She defeated Underwood in three of the four rounds, ultimately winning 3-4, 4-2, 6-3, 8-4.
Consequently, Jonas will now meet Taylor at 2.30pm on Monday.
Meanwhile, Ireland’s John Joe Nevin will take on OscarFierro at 8.45pm tonight, with a place in the semi-finals of the Men’s Bantam up for grabs.
