The Morning Score: Friday

It’s the morning after the night before for Shamrock Rovers fans. Here’s everything you need to know.

1. #RWC2011 As widely anticipated yesterday, Ronan O’Gara has been handed the No 10 jersey for Sunday morning’s showdown with Italy in Dunedin.

The veteran out half will be partnered by Munster colleague Conor Murray.

Announcing the team, Kidney insisted that it was not solely placekicking form that had chosen the side – but that O’Gara’s defensive performance against the Bears had been the clinching factor.

2. #EUROPA LEAGUE Shamrock Rovers fans enjoyed a night to remember at White Hart Lane last night.

Ultimately, Michael O’Neill’s side were outclassed by Spurs and left north London with no points after a 3-1 defeat.

But for 10 minutes the Airtricity League champions led through a Stephen Rice goal. Catch out how it unfolded, as it happened.

3. #GOLF Dustin Johnson says there is no friction between him and fellow American Tiger Woods after losing his caddie to the former No. 1.

Joe LaCava left the fifth-ranked Johnson on Sunday to become Woods’ full-time caddie. Johnson says “I spoke to Tiger about it. There’s no hard feelings at all.”

4. #RWC2011 Martin Johnson has revealed his regret over the ball-switch fiasco which has led to two senior members of the England management team being banned from tomorrow’s Scotland clash.

5. #GAA All-Ireland champions Kilkenny lead the nominations for this year’s All-Star awards with 14.

There are 10 each for both Tipperary and Dublin while six from Waterford get the nod, there’s three for Limerick and two for Galway.

6. #RWC2011 So what about the Italians? Well, Andrea Masi returns at full-back in their only change for Sunday’s win-or-die clash at Otago Stadium, replacing Luke McLean.
