The Morning Score: Friday

Ireland’s got Tallinn – here’s all you need to know ahead of a massive day for the Boys in Green.

1. #EURO 2012 It’s the big one. Ireland face Estonia in the fist leg of their European Championship qualification play-off this evening.

Yesterday manager Giovanni Trapattoni named 10 of the 11 players that will start in Tallinn.

He will make a decision on whether Simon Cox or Jon Walters will partner Robbie Keane up front at some stage today, if he hasn’t already.

Miguel Delaney sent this letter from the city last night after he attended both managers’ press conferences. It’s a 7.45pm kick-off and we’ll liveblog the action from the A La Coq Arena throughout as well as bringing you reaction.

2. #HEINEKEN CUP The European Cup gets underway this evening too of course – and it’s the first season all four Irish provinces are in the mix.

Connacht make their debut this evening against in-form Harlequins at the Stoop.

Yesterday, Eric Elwood named his side for the much-anticipated bow.

3. #GOLF Tiger’s back baby. The former world number one leads the Australian Open. He’s nine under par, leading by one from Peter O’Malley.

The action in Singapore has been disrupted by a thunder storm meanwhile.

4. #CYCLING A French court has convicted American cyclist Floyd Landis in absentia for his role in hacking into the computers of a French doping lab.

The court in Paris gave the disgraced former Tour de France champion a 12-month suspended prison sentence — six months fewer than the penalty sought by the state prosecutor.

5. #GAA Yesterday Kevin Cassidy released a statement insisting he did not break any dressing-room trust by cooperating with a behind-the-scenes book about the Ulster championship.

The All-Star wing back was axed from the squad by manager Jim McGuinness earlier in the week. Last night former boss John Joe Doherty – about whose tenure Cassidy was critical – backed the decision by his successor.

6. #SKIPPER Colm Cooper will get another shot at lifting Sam next summer. The Dr Crokes forward has been nominated by his club to lead the county side again next summer.
