A dramatic weekend of GAA action, a massive night in the NBA and Jenson Button seals a superb Canadian victory.

1. #CHAMPIONSHIP It was another eventful weekend of hurling and football action.

Yesterday, Roscommon easily dispatched neighbours Leitrim in Carrick-on-Shannon to book their spot in the Connacht SFC final.

Afterwards, an injury-time John Mullane goal sealed a dramatic win for Waterford against an impressive Limerick side in Thurles.

2. #DRAW Afterwards the draw was made for the first round of the All-Ireland football qualifiers. And there’s some intriguing battles in store. The full draw is: Clare vs. Down; Laois vs. Tipperary; Antrim vs. Westmeath; Louth vs. Meath; London vs. Fermanagh Cavan vs. Longford; Wicklow vs. Sligo; Offaly vs. Monaghan

3. #HOOPS If you have Game 6 of the NBA play-offs DVR’d, look away now.

The Dallas Mavericks last night claimed a historic title, beating the star-studded Miami Heat 105-95. We’ll have more soon.

4. #F1 Jenson Button took a dramatic victory in a rain-hit Canadian Grand Prix yesterday, passing Sebastian Vettel on the last lap. Red Bull’s Mark Webber was third to deprive Mercedes’ Michael Schumacher a podium place.

5. #PREMIER LEAGUE Alex McLeish resigned as Birmingham City manager yesterday, fuelling speculation that he is on the verge of making a controversial cross-town  move by taking over at Aston Villa. It will not be a popular decision on the blue half of the city.

6. #LE MANS This year’s Le Man’s 24-hours race saw two dramatic crashes involving Audi and Ferrari yesterday, the first of which came in the opening hour of the day-long event.

Allan McNish, driving the Audi No 3, collided with a Ferrari just 50 minutes into the race, pushing both off the track and sending McNish’s car into the tyre wall, check out the full story here.
