The Morning Score: Monday

It’s all about one young guy this morning isn’t it?

1. #HISTRORY So what did you do last night? Rory McIlroy won the US Open.

The 22-year-old from Holywood cruised through his final round at Congressional, absolutely blitzing any lingering doubts that he might implode in a similar way to his Masters collapse.

Catch up with how it happened here.

2. #CHAMPIONSHIP Earlier yesterday, we went minute-by-minute for Tipperary Munster SHC semi-final with  Clare at the Gaelic Grounds in Limerick.

The Banner started like a train but the experience and class of the All-Ireland champions saw them win comfortably in the end. Read how it all went down.

3. #SW19 Conor Niland has the incentive of a glamour showdown with Roger Federer in the second round should he negotiate the first.

The Limerickman made history over the weekend as he secured a first-round spot. He will play Adrian Mannarino, the  play gets going today. We’ll be there throughout.

4 #CHAMPIONSHIP Before yesterday’s hurling action, we were treated to a wonderful game of football from Clones.

Derry stunned favourites Armagh 3-14 to 1-11 to reach the Ulster SFC final.

5. #EURO VISION The draws will be made today for European football’s club competitions. We’ll keep an eye on it like the Irish clubs.

6. #BLOODY HELL Henrik Stenson shed blood and shots when he lost the plot a little yesterday evening and halved the shaft of his club. We’ve all been there.
