Darren Clarke wakes up as Open champ, while it’s a good morning for Mayo, Donegal and Japan’s ladies too.

1. #GOLDEN OLDIE Darren Clarke won his first Major championship as he sealed the Open by three shots yesterday.

2. #GAA Donegal are the Ulster SFC champions after a 1-11 to 0-8 points win over Derry in Clones. It’s the county’s first provincial title since 1992.

3. #GAA Earler yesterday in Connacht, Mayo came out on top in the western football decider. Roscommon were edged out in difficult condition on a scoreline of 0-13 to 0-11.

4. #LE TOUR Mark Cavendish won the 193km Stage 15 to Montpellier after a bunch sprint yesterday. Tyler Farrar came in second and Alessandro Petacchi was third. It’sa rest day for the riders today.

5. #COPA AMERICA The Copa America semi-finals will not feature either Brazil or Argentina.

After the hosts exit on Saturday night on penalties, Brazil went out the same way to Paraguay last night. Liverpool’s Lucas was dismissed, we’ll have more detail later.

6. #WWC Japan are the Women’s World Cup champions after a penalty shoot-out victory over the US in Hamburg last night.
