1. #RWC2011 Rory Best is likely to miss Saturday’s World Cup quarter-final with Wales.

The Ulster hooker sprained the AC joint in his right shoulder during yesterday’s 36-6 victory over Italy at Otago Stadium. Manager Paul McNaughton says Declan Kidney ‘hasn’t written him off yet’.

2. #BAKU Paddy Barnes has been beaten in his last 32 bout against his Filipino opponent on a scoreline of 20-12 this morning.

3. #RWC2011 Delon Armitage has been banned from England’s Rugby World Cup quarter-final against France.

5. #GRIDIRON On another busy Sunday, Matt Ryan threw for 291 yards, rookie Julio Jones caught 11 passes for 127 yards, and the Atlanta Falcons held off a second-half rally from Seattle for a 30-28 win over the Seahawks. Eli Manning threw two touchdown passes in a 58-second span late in the game as the New York Giants rallied to stun the Arizona Cardinals 31-27.

6. #RWC2011 Craig Joubert of South Africa will referee that showdown with Wales this weekend, tournament chiefs have confirmed.
