The Morning Score: Thursday

Ireland are up and running in Romania – and everything else you need to know before getting dressed.

1. #GREECE THE WORD Ireland’s U19s got their European Championships bid off to a winning start in Romania last night.

Paul Doolin’s side beat Greece 2-1 thanks to a brace from Blackburn Rovers defender Anthony O’Connor.

2. #GAA Conor Counihan last night named the Cork side to face Down in Croke Park on Saturday. Fintan Goold will line out at right half-forward in the only change from the Munster SFC final defeat to Kerry.

The Macroom man takes the place of cruciate injury victim Ciaran Sheehan in what will be a repeat of last year’s All-Ireland decider.

3. #LE TOUR Edvald Boasson-Hagen of Team Sky won his second stage of the race as he attacked a large breakaway group with 11km to go to cross the line solo in Pinerolo yesterday.

Today’s stage looks absolutely sick. We’ll have more later this morning.

4. #SPLIT Tiger Woods last night fired caddie Steve Williams tonight, ending a 12-year relationship in which he won 72 times worldwide and 13 majors.

5. #HEINEKEN CUP Ireland’s provinces learned the details of their opening European fixtures yesterday. Check them out here.

6. #YOUTUBE Another week eh? We’ll be compiling the Thursday round-up of virals later, so send us you favourites from the past week please. This overhead tennis game thing will be there:
