2. #GAA Mayo yesterday named their starting XV ahead of the All-Ireland SFC quarter-final with Cork this weekend.

James Horan has drafted in two new faces with Ger Cafferkey coming in for Alan Feeney in the full-back line while Garrymore man Enda Varley replaces Jason Doherty at corner-forward.

Elsewhere, superstar miler Frankel took advantage of an eight-pound weight allowance to win the Qipco Sussex Stakes at Glorious Goodwood, storming to a comfortable five-length victory over last year’s champion, Canford Cliffs.

5. #DOWN Ireland dropped two places in FIFA’s world rankings which were released yesterday.

Giovanni Trapattoni’s side are now down to 33rd.
