2. #PREMIER LEAGUE Elsewhere Papiss Cisse hit what is surely the goal of the season as he notched a double and Newcastle won 2-0 at Chelsea. 3. #MUNSTER Rob Penney will take over at Thomond Park on 1 July, it was announced yesterday. The New Zealander gets the nod ahead of Munster favourite Anthony Foley but the likes of Donal Lenihan insist Penney’s pedigree as a coach who bloods young players was key to the decision.
4. #RED HAND Tyrone boss Mickey Harte has signed a contract extension that will keep him at the county until at least 2015. His contract was due to be up after this year’s Championship, however a decision was made to reward him with a new contract by the county committee last night.
5. #TITLES Real Madrid wrapped up the La Liga title with a win over Bilbao last night but, in Barcelona, Leo Messi struck his ninth hat-trick of the season to bring his tally to a record breaking 68 goals for the season.
6. #SNOOKER Ronnie O’Sullivan will play Matthew Stevens in the World Championship semi-finals having seen off Neil Robertson 13-10 at the Crucible yesterday evening. The last-four clash gets underway today.
