1. #MAYO Conor Mortimer last night left the senior Mayo football panel, the county confirmed, for ‘personal reasons’. The forward was named on the bench for Sunday’s Connacht final against Sligo but will not now feature at all. The player tweeted that he had no regrets yesterday evening. Elsewhere, Cork named their hurling side ahead of the qualifier against Wexford, the Model made three changes of their own and Kerry football boss Jack O’Connor revealed his first XV. 2. #YOUNG GUNS Kilkenny got back to winning ways last night as they ran out 4-24 to 1-13 winners in the Leinster U21HC while their was victories elsewhere for Kerry in the Munster JFC final against Clare by 3-18 to 3-7 and Dublin in the Leinster MFC semi-final against Kildare by 2-16 to 1-8.

3. #TDF Today’s stage at the Tour de France, held over 148 km from Albertville to a hilltop finish at La Toussuire, takes in the Col de la Madeleine, the Col de la Croix de Fer and the Col du Mollard… and is tough. Yesterday, Bradley Wiggins retained the yellow, Thomas Voeckler took the stage and Nicolas Roche moved up one place to a really impressive ninth spot. Dan Martin writes in his Irish Times column this morning that he intends to attack today. We’ll be watching.

4. #TRANSFER WINDOW Real Madrid have bid over £40million for Tottenham Hotspur playmaker Luka Modric, according to reports in England this morning.
